Why Write

What is it that first compels someone to want to write? Was there something in their childhood that gave an inkling to a calling? Did a book inspire them to write their own? For every writer, the answer always varies. Everyone has a unique start to their own journey to being a writer.

When any creative venture could be explored, why chose to be a writer?

It is a strong conscious decision. One that once made, there is no turning back. For when the writing bug bites it stays with you forever.

In this TED Talk, the best-selling author, Ann Hood, shares her own decision-making process that led her to write, along with the events in her life that shaped the stories that were eventually turned into the novels she published.
